Are You Ready
In 1992 the first meeting with Max Moroldo at Logic Studios in Milan took place, where Nathalie Aarts was working full-time as a Studio Manager. This lead to a long-time future collaboration and a lot of productions together with, for and on the Do It Yourself label.
In 1993 the idea of Happymen was created, by Max Moroldo, Rossano Prini and Fabrizio Mascheroni and Nathalie was asked to sing the very first single on the label Do It Yourself (which in 1995 became a very successful record label!).
This first single was titled “Are You Ready” and was released in 1994 (on vinyl). “So Lonely” was the extra track on the b-side.
Arranged and mixed by Happymen with Roberto Zucchini and Marcello Catalano at Gianburrasca Studio (Milano-Italy). The track became a success and was licenced to many countries then afterwards.
After a few years, in 1996, when Do It Yourself had already officially become a record company, Happymen decided to create a follow up, this time with the help of Gianluca Mensi and again with Nathalie on vocals! The song is called “Love Is You” and was written by the same team and created by M2 (Moroldo & Mensi) at M2 studio (Valenza-Italy). With the collaboration of the Stunned Guys (Maxx Monopoli & Giangy Rossi) who created the “The Stunned Guys Hardcore Mix”.
Released on vinyl and cd-single and this time a video-clip was created of the Radio (“Happy”) Version, which was different than the “progressive mix” that was heard on the Italian radio stations, but preferred by the other countries (The Netherlands – Babyboom Records, Germany – Orbit Records, Spain – Contrasena Records, ecc.).
1996 is also the year where Nathalie started working full-time for the Do It Yourself Record Label at the Licensing Department.
In 2004, after 8 years and inspired by the movie “The Lord Of The Rings”, Stefano Mattara and Paolo Gasparin (also the male voice in the song) wrote the song “Tesoro”, which was again interpreted by Nathalie, her first time singing a song completely in Italian! The beautiful voice of the narrator was G. Zani. Released on vinyl and produced in DM studios (Padova-Italy).
You might not always be able to recognise Nathalie in the various video clips of songs that were produced, that is because she has always chosen not to be identified, to enable her to continue interpreting all her other music projects.
NATHALIE AARTS was born and lived for 21 years in Holland (Breda); During this period her interest for music developed and she studied piano, guitar and, subsequently, singing, but her main passion was dancing and therefor she started studying jazz-dance at an early age and teaching from the age of 14. In 1989 she got her Jazz Dance teacher diploma at the age of 19. After that she studied another year for a specialisation in “Theatre-shows” and in 1991 she decided to leave both Holland and the cover band, The Fuse, of which she had been the female singer for 6 years.
After having arrived in Italy she started working with the La Bionda brothers and as vocalist for a few advertising jingles. In December 1991 her work with the brothers resulted in her first record as solo artist, a cover of Lisa Stansfield’s “Change”.
In the following years Nathalie sang in venues all over Italy with a cover-band Foggy Brains, Nat’s Band and later also with the NOE Gospel Choir and she lent her voice to many pop-dance music projects, working with many different musicians and producers for different music styles.
The Main known projects to which she has not only given her voice, but also her “image” are “Happymen”, The Soundlovers, Nat & Kim, Nathalie Aarts & Kim Lukas and lately also many featurings as Nathalie Aarts.
She also lent her voice to many Eurobeat projects (above all for the Japanese/ Asian market) working with Delta Records / Sinclaire Style for the projects Nathalie & Larabelle and for the project Joga, released by Toshiba-Emi (Japan) and produced by Nick Ferrando, Luca Pernici, Giordano Trivellato and Giuliano Sacchetto.
More projects are: Doki Doki, Crystal, Eurobeat Girls, ecc.
You can still find Nathalie performing all over the world with the songs of The Soundlovers (and featurings) in many festivals and she is still producing, writing and singing in various dance projects with different labels all over the world.
